FAMILY BIBLE CAMP

JULY 21-27, 2024     THE CAMP AT FINDLEY, CLYMER NY

Family Bible Camp Speakers

For the week of FBC there are three speakers.

Bible hour speaker speaks about an hour after breakfast.  Following the first speaker there is a brief cookie break, and then we gather back together for the discipleship hour with the second speaker to finish the morning sessions.  After a fun filled day we close out our day by gathering together to listen to the evening speaker.

Bible Hour Speaker: Suzanne Nicholson

Suzanne is making her first appearance at Family Bible Camp.  She is currently a Professor of New Testament at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky where a spiritual awakening took place in February 2023.  Prior to Asbury, she taught for 16 years at Malone University.  She received her B.A. from the University of Minnesota, her M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary and her Ph. D. from the University of Durham.  She is the author of the book Dynamic Oneness: The Significance and Flexibility of Paul’s One-God Language and the 8-week Bible study Women in the New Testament.  She currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Inductive Biblical Studies and is the Assistant Lead Editor for Firebrand, an online Wesleyan magazine.  She was an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church and is now an elder in the Global Methodist Church.  She and her husband, Lee, have two adult children.

Discipleship Hour: Matthew Sleeth

Evening Preacher: Mark Webb

Bishop Webb returns to Family Bible Camp on the 10th anniversary of his first appearance in 2014.  He currently serves as one of the two active bishops in the newly formed Global Methodist Church.  He previously served as the resident bishop of the Upper New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church for over 10 years.  Prior to that, he served as District Superintendent of the York District of the Susquehanna Conference and pastor to three churches in eastern Pennsylvania, including the Aldersgate UMC in Mechanicsburg for 13 years.  In 2018, he was named as one of the top 100 leaders by the John C. Maxwell Transformational Leadership Award.  He received his B.A. from Shippensburg University and his M. Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary.  He received the Harry Denman Award in 2002.  He and his wife Jodi live in Lititz, Pennsylvania and have two adult sons, Tyler and Benjamin.

Matthew Sleeth, MD, a former emergency room physician and chief of the hospital medical staff, resigned from his position to teach, preach, and write about faith, God, and the Bible. Dr. Sleeth has spoken at more than one thousand churches, campuses, and events, including serving as a monthly guest preacher at the Washington National Cathedral.

Recognized by Newsweek as one of the nation's most influential Christian leaders, Dr. Sleeth is the executive director of Blessed Earth and author of numerous articles and books.

He lives in Lexington, Kentucky, with Nancy, his wife of more than four decades. Their grown children serve with their families in full-time parish ministry and as medical missionaries in Africa.
